North American LCS Spring Playoffs Previews

The first 10 weeks of Riot’s inaugural LCS season has been a roller coaster ride. We’ve seen undefeated titans fall farther than anyone expected, and familiar faces ostracized by their teams. You watched Team SoloMid race to the top in the final week of the Spring season and laughed as NyJacky described his lack of experience against Quinn.

The journey concludes here. The teams that started this season are a shade of who they once were; their identities twisted and molded by 10 weeks of battle on Summoner’s Rift. Whether the change is for better or worse will be determined by upcoming matches. The LCS Playoffs are about to start.

NA LCS: Vulcun’s Quinn Pick Fails to Soar, Curse Remains On Top

A surprise Quinn pick by Vulcun’s Mid Laner mandatorycloud wasn’t enough to challenge the top team in NA LCS, as Curse dropped Vulcun with little difficulty in the final match of Week 7. NyJacky admittedly had no experience against Quinn players and was forced to adopt a more passive style of play. Limited action in the mid lane forced mandatorycloud to find other ways to make an impact elsewhere on the map, but he was always too little, too late.

NA LCS: Vulcun Claws Back to Drop Dignitas

Nearly one hour. That’s how long it took Vulcun to recover from a shaky start in their match against Dignitas. The faulty early game made the comeback victory all the more sweeter, as Zuna tore everything and everyone apart with his Tristana play. Turrets, inhibitors, Baron kills … Zuna was a one-man wrecking crew, both unstoppable and uncatchable. While Dignitas started out strong, Vulcun eventually pushed back hard enough to create opportunities and secure the victory. It just took longer than they probably wanted.
